Max Verstappen kicked off the Canadian Grand Prix weekend leading a chaotic first practice session on a slippery Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal. The track’s low grip caused numerous spins and challenges for the drivers, including a crash by Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc. Despite the mishaps, Verstappen set the pace and narrowly avoided a collision with the Wall of Champions. Williams’ George Russell impressed by briefly topping the timesheets, but it was Red Bull’s Verstappen who ultimately finished the session on top. The session also saw strong performances from Carlos Sainz, Lando Norris, and Pierre Gasly, setting the stage for an intriguing race weekend. Second practice is set to take place later in the day.
